The frozen yogurt trend has been very popular on the west coast. I would imagine there are so many stores that you will start seeing many close or go out of business.
What do you think about the self serve frozen yogurt concept that is just now hitting the midwest. I'm currently in the planning stages of opening a store. I very curious to knoiw if this concept will take of here in the midwest?

I saw the self service style frozen yogurt in the Las Vegas recently when I was at the Intl Pizza Expo.  If it were me, I'd go with the tradition service style.  People eat with their eyes, and the risk is people pump out an ugly yogurt dish, leaving a less than optimal impression.

I've changed my mind on this.  I've seen the self service style executed in several more locations and it seems to work very well.

High Five Frozen Yogurt is a very popular one down here in Florida and it seems to be very busy..

We have it in our shopping center directly across from Cold Stone and I honestly believe it does more business then cold stone.

Price is cheap, 1 Employee to run the register and I've seen two on busy days.. they only have between 5 to 7 machine's so build out does not look overly expensive.. it just seems like a simply but fun concept..

Does it make money? Dunno :)

I thought the High Five theme was cheesey - celebrate the high five moments in your life.  I do find myself staring at the pictures on the whole though, so maybe it's not as cheesey as I like to think.
